Amy Schwartz, Coach

Amy Schwartz is an OptimalBody–OptimalMind Coach with over 30 years of experience in the health and wellness industry. She has lived with Multiple Sclerosis for more than a decade and brings both professional expertise and lived experience into her work with individuals navigating chronic conditions.

An athlete her entire life, Amy’s background includes gymnastics, marathon running, strength and weight training with a deep connection to movement as a source of strength and freedom. When MS entered her life, the fatigue, weakness, and unpredictability challenged her physically and disrupted her relationship with her body. Rather than allowing those limitations to define her, Amy committed to rebuilding strength through intentional training and movement.

In 2021, Amy began training with David Lyons through the Optimal Body Training Program. Through structured strength training and optimal nutrition, she experienced measurable improvements in her physical capacity, endurance, and overall function—allowing her to return to a more active, capable way of living. That experience became the foundation for her work today.

Amy is a certified MS Fitness Specialist and ISSA Personal Trainer, with a deep understanding of how to safely and effectively train bodies impacted by neurological and chronic conditions. Her approach prioritizes strength, mobility, stability, and functional movement, meeting clients where they are and helping them progress with confidence and consistency.

Her mission is simple and powerful: to help individuals with chronic illness rebuild strength, restore physical independence, and rediscover what their bodies are capable of because healing and strength are always possible through movement.

OptimalBody-OptimalMind Training offers unique advantages for individuals and is a highly effective fitness program for anyone seeking to improve their overall health and fitness. Here’s why:

  1. Focus on Neuroplasticity: OptimalBody-OptimalMind Training emphasizes exercises that stimulate neuroplasticity, which is the brain’s ability to adapt and form new connections. This is beneficial for everyone, as it can improve cognitive function, coordination, and motor control, regardless of your current fitness level or health condition.
  2. Enhanced Muscle Fiber Activation: The program incorporates specific techniques to activate muscle fibers effectively. This can lead to greater strength gains, improved muscle definition, and enhanced athletic performance for anyone.
  3. Stronger Brain-Muscle Connection: By focusing on exercises that strengthen the connection between the brain and muscles, OptimalBody-OptimalMind Training can enhance coordination, balance, and reaction time, which are essential for everyday activities and sports performance.
  4. Increased Acetylcholine Production: The program’s emphasis on specific movement patterns and mind-muscle connection helps to increase the production of acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter crucial for learning, memory, and muscle function. This can lead to improved cognitive abilities and physical performance.
  5. Boosted BDNF Levels: OptimalBody-OptimalMind Training promotes exercises that naturally increase Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor (BDNF), a protein that supports the survival of existing neurons and encourages the growth and differentiation of new neurons and synapses. This is vital for brain health, memory, and overall cognitive function.
  6. Holistic Approach: OptimalBody-OptimalMind Training considers the whole person, not just physical fitness. It promotes strength training, mindfulness, stress reduction, and overall well-being, which can benefit anyone seeking a balanced and healthy lifestyle.
  7. Adaptability: The program can be tailored to individual fitness levels and goals, making it suitable for people of all ages and abilities, from beginners to experienced athletes.

While other fitness programs may offer general exercise routines, OptimalBody-OptimalMind Training provides a targeted and comprehensive approach to fitness that can benefit anyone seeking to optimize their physical and mental well-being. It’s a program designed to unlock your full potential, regardless of your starting point.

If you’re looking for a fitness program that goes beyond basic exercises and focuses on maximizing your body’s capabilities, OptimalBody-OptimalMind Training is the only choice.
